Introduction to University Tutoring
The adjustment from A-Levels to university is a significant one that can be daunting for many individuals. The step up to university often involves less learning support and is more about moving away from family and friends. At university, there is a focus on self-study and further reading outside of lectures, encouraging students to critically evaluate what they read, and form their own ideas and opinions around topics.
Our university tutors and mentors help ease students through this transition, developing the mindset required to study at university level. All our university tutors and mentors are passionate about their chosen subject, holding a postgraduate degree and relevant industry experience.
Our tutors for university students help bridge any learning gaps, proofread coursework and guidance with dissertations. Our mentors help students with pastoral support, timetabling supervision and general support. Having someone to talk to and trust during the university experience can make all the difference in both performance and wellbeing.
If students are considering continuing with university through completing a postgraduate degree, then our advisors can advise on courses, scholarships and funding. Many of our tutors provide support at a postgraduate level, including both masters and PhDs.
When university comes to a close, it is natural for students to think about what is next for them. This is challenging, as getting a job in the modern world is highly competitive. Our careers advisors are always available to assist with any questions students may have, with support provided on CV writing, cover letters and interview training to help land that all-important dream job.
We also guide on choosing a career pathway, explaining what different career day-to-day activities entail, alongside salary expectations and travel opportunities. Our extensive network enables us to connect you with relevant industry professionals, often leading to internships and placements which are the crucial first step in starting prosperous careers.
